Thomas Lavin is Coming to the O.C.

We are proud and excited to announce that we are expanding our presence in Southern California due to popular demand. Thomas Lavin and the Blake House showroom, celebrating 25 years in the Laguna Design Center, will merge to become Thomas Lavin at Blake House. The new combined showroom will open this summer in a 12,000-square-foot space in the LDC that will feature a courtyard display of outdoor furniture and fabrics illustrative of the Southern California style of indoor-outdoor living.

Thomas Lavin has become the leading purveyor of luxury fabrics in Southern California, most recently adding Anichini and Liberty Textiles out of the UK to its assortment of 38 coveted textile lines from around the world. The beauty of shopping for fabrics at the Thomas Lavin showroom is the range that is represented, from the leading upholstery and drapery fabric purveyors to boutique lines crafted by owner entrepreneurs from California to the Connecticut and beyond.

All of the Thomas Lavin fabric, lighting and furniture lines, including Christian Liaigre, Jiun Ho, Fuse, Magni Home, McEwen Lighting, Link and Tuell & Reynolds, will be represented at the new showroom in Orange County. The new Laguna showroom also will carry lines that Blake House had been representing, such as Aesthetic, Arte International, Corbin Bronze, Giati Designs, Hartmann & Forbes, Holland & Sherry, Ironware International, Knowlton Brothers, Live Anywhere, Marbello Design, Nomi Fabrics, Rodolph, Ron Dier Design, Rose Tarlow Melrose House.

Sandy French, founder of Blake House in Laguna Niguel, and partner Stephen Anderson are enthusiastic about the prospect of having a bounty of fabric lines as well as contemporary furniture and lighting at the new showroom. “The mix will be great, particularly with our lines such as Giati, Hartmann & Forbes, Rose Tarlow Melrose House, Knowlton Brothers and Rodolph,” says French.

The Laguna Design Center had been courting Lavin to open a showroom for the past several years. Lavin demurred, taking trunk shows to Orange and San Diego counties until the right opportunity presented itself. “The sales team at Blake House has the same level of customer service and integrity that my staff in Los Angeles has,” Lavin says. “We have a winning team.”

Stephen Anderson will be the VP and manage the new Thomas Lavin at Blake House showroom when it opens in its new space in August.
